Always amazed me how statisticians and economists are capable of predicting and explaining seemingly psychological behaviour with their theories and equations. But one thing is to model human crowd during evacuation from the building with computer, and the other is to establish the law of some human behaviours that predict what we can see in reality in similar way as law of gravity predicts that apple fall down after being thrown up. That why I truly consider “Regulatory capture” as hypothesis and theory that gives as exceptional view of how very complicated behaviour of vast amount of people through long period of time can be predicted with only minimal input of information at the beginning of observation. It also gives as a hint, how individualities doesn’t count as far as we are dealing with large enough group of people or societies.
When it comes to corruption, we are doomed in the long range.
